Chapter Eight

Xavier had never seen a more beautiful sight in his life and he hoped to see it many more times. Kylie was such a passionate little thing and he wanted her in his bed and life forever. She was the most honestly responsive woman he had ever met and he couldn’t wait to make love with her. He looked up to Will and Lachlan and could see the future in their eyes as they looked down at the gorgeous woman on the bed.

He gazed at Kylie’s face as he ran his hands up and down her thighs, over her taut, concave belly, trying to bring her down slowly from her climactic high. Her eyelids fluttered open and he saw her green orbs were still glazed with the remnants of passion. As he shifted to his hands and knees, he realized he was shaking with lust, but as he looked at her stunning face he knew in his heart that what he felt for her wasn’t just desire. It was love. He wanted to cuddle her close and tell her that everything would be all right, that he and his brothers would keep her safe. He wanted to tell her how he felt, how she had worked her way under his skin and into his heart for all time. But he knew she wasn’t ready for such proclamations. He didn’t want to push her away with words she wasn’t ready to hear yet, so he kept his feelings to himself.

Her eyelids looked weighted as if she was having trouble keeping them open, and then she covered her mouth and yawned. As much as he wanted to make love with her right now, she needed sleep more. The dark smudges beneath her eyes were a testament to how exhausted she was, and even though his cock was screaming at him to plunge into her tight, wet pussy and connect with her on a physical as well as an emotional level, she needed to rest.

He laid his head on her belly and wrapped his arms around her hips. She felt so right in his arms and he wasn’t about to let go anytime soon. He looked at Will and Lach and was pleased to see they were both worried about Kylie as well. They scooted down beside her so that she was nestled between them while he moved from between her legs and off the bed. He pulled the covers up and then pulled the quilt and top sheet out from the bottom of the mattress. There was no way in hell he wasn’t sleeping in this bed with his woman. He got back on the bed and lay down across the foot then reached out and placed his hand on her leg.

“What are you doing?” Kylie asked around another yawn.

“Getting settled for the night,” Will answered. “Close your eyes, sweet thang, you need to rest. You have a big day tomorrow with the wedding and all.”

Kylie looked perplexed and Xavier had to hold in a chuckle.
